Blog Hop

It's Book Blogger Hop time over at Crazy-For-Books!

Today's question is:
Do you belong to a book club (IRL or online?)

Unfortunately, I don't. I really want to though. A few years ago I tried one at work (failed miserably- no one had time to read or meet up).
There was a period of time when I ran a Bibliotherapy Group with my older students after school. It was quite successful, but the nature of the beast at a Residential Treatment Facility is population changes quickly so the group fizzled out after some discharges and a shift in age groups being admitted.

How about you? Hop over to Crazy-For-Books and link up!

write to be understood, speak to be heard, read to grow

  1. Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting.

It is tricky to keep up with everything in all the book clubs.

Try an online book club at Goodreads or BookBundlz. They put out a book each month on BookBundlz...not sure about Goodreads, though.

  6. If in person doesn't work for you, why not start one online? You can customize how it works to meet your schedule, and that of the members. That's what I did. My group is very casual. That keeps it fun and pressure free. After all, reading shouldn't be a cause of stress.

Hope you find a group that works for you!

  7. Finding time is always the hardest part. When my work friend book group breaks out their calendars to schedule the next meeting, we sometimes go three months until we can get together again. I expect it will fizzle out one of these days, but I'm enjoying it while it lasts. Hope you can find another group!
